Over the weekend it was being reported that West Bromwich Albion head coach Slaven Bilic had invited former Leicester City (and Premier League winning) right back Danny Simpson into training, with the obvious possibility being that we could sign him as additional cover as a free agent.
The claims came up on Friday initially I believe and the likes of The Sun were one of many to carry the reports.
The 32-year-old would certainly bring experience to the group given he has over 300 career appearances to his name, but having brought in Darnell Furlong, as well as the emergence of Academy graduate Nathan Ferguson, there are certainly those fans who feel we simply don’t need him now.
Right back had been a problem for a few years going back to Darren Moore’s tenure and whilst in normal circumstances, Simpson would certainly be a decent option, I can definitely understand those fans who don’t want to see Ferguson held back.
No better than what we have!

Not at the expense of Ferguson or Furlong ! Those lads have been excellent ! And I doubt he'd want to be third choice at a championship club !

No, waste of a wage when we have two quality right backs already.

Right backs looking stronger than ever

No. Squad is adequate enough in terms of depth. No need for him

No as we've got a big enough squad

I suspect his salary demands are the issue as to finding a club. We don’t need him. Decent player but third choice behind Ferguson and Furlong. COYB

Decent player but don't need any more people
